The First Annual Copper Town Ball!
The Jerome Historical Society in conjunction with the Jerome Chamber of Commerce held the First Annual “Annual Copper Town Ball.” The first-ever black tie affair was held on Saturday, September 13, 2008 at Spook Hall in Jerome.

Guests were taken on a journey back in time to the era of Big Bands, speakeasies and underground gambling. The festivities, which began at 8:00 p.m. and continued well into the night, centered on an elegant evening of dancing, gambling and a silent auction.

A beautiful decor including wonderfully prepared food by local Jerome restaurants.
The Jerome Historical Society made presentations of two grants and recognized two notable Jerome citizens from the past and present as well as a presentation of a Special Recognition Award.

The Band "Sentimental Journey" provided the musical entertainment. This 18 piece orchestra played music from Tommy Dorsey to Glen Miller as well as many other tunes from that era.

The attendees were given money to be used in an underground casino, a certificate for a keepsake memento photo to be taken at the event, and tickets for the grand prize drawing – a weekend package at the “Ritz Carlton” in Phoenix.
